- Well, that is true of BINARY files but what setting the higher baud rate
- does is allow for MNP5 compression to take over on COMPRESSIBLE TEXT files.
-
- I know. I had mine set to 38400 and noticed when I downloaded a large
- 100k text file I was getting significantly faster downloads. So I set
- the baud to 57600 and I downloaded the same file again and was getting
- 5500 CPS.
-
- It also seems to help on some binaries that haven't been compressed such
- as MPEGs and AVIs.
-
- This seemed to be the max baud I could get and when I set it higher I
- couldn't get a proper connection.
